Styropods are used in the building industry as voids in floating concrete foundation slabs to save in the cost of construction on suitable sites.

Required packing and handling method
Styropods are light in weight therefore are able to be shifted by hand or pallet truck as required.
Once delivered onto construction site existing supplies of steel etc must be used to weigh the styropods down to ensure weather does not move the styropods from the site.
While styropods are being installed into the foundation slab any scraps produced by the concreters must be collected and disposed of correctly.

¼ cases are moved by hand and are packed with fruit using a sandwich of bubble pad and card lid tapped on the top to keep fruit from moving during transportation. The ¼ case is then packed onto a pallet and finished pallet is then plastic wrapped for transport. Tomato boxes are moved by hand and are packed loosely with fruit. The tomato boxes are then packed onto a pallet and finished pallet is then plastic wrapped for transport.

Export grape boxes are used for the packaging of table grapes generally for export overseas.

Required packing and handling method
Export grape boxes are moved by hand and pallet truck and generally packed using a plastic liner with the grapes put into this liner, folded over and lid placed on top. Packed boxes are then placed on appropriate pallet using corner angles on each corner and then wrapped using vented plastic wrapping ready for transport.

Application
Block and cut parts are used for insulation, building panels, packaging and 2D polystyrene shapes. The impact resistance is a major feature of Expanded Polystyrene and cheap if needing a product just to fill a void, like in concrete.

Required packing and handling method
Bottled wine is placed into top assembly and either another top assembly placed on top to package only 2 bottles or a middle assembly is used to increase package by 2 bottles with another top assembly placed on top. Packaging tape is then used to secure the assemblies together. Middle assemblies enable many bottles to be packaged in multiples of 2.
